Frequently Asked Questions

Is Klat Office compatible with Microsoft Office?

Yes! Klat Office opens, edits, and saves .docx, .xlsx, .pptx files with high fidelity. Complex formatting, macros, and advanced features may have minor differences.

Can I use VBA macros?

Klat Office supports Basic macros (similar to VBA) and Python/JavaScript. VBA macros need conversion. Basic macros run natively; use the macro recorder to port logic.

Does it support collaborative editing?

Real-time co-editing via Nextcloud/ownCloud integration. Track changes and comments work offline. For Google Docs-style live editing, use the web version (coming soon).

Can I install only Writer?

The installer lets you choose components. Minimum install (Writer only) is ~80 MB. Flatpak/AppImage are monolithic but sandboxed.

Is there a mobile version?

Not yet. Klat Office Viewer for Android (read-only) is in beta. Full editing on mobile planned for 2027. Use web/cloud alternatives for now.

How do I get templates?

File → New → Templates. Built-in templates + online repository (templates.klatasia.com). Community templates in .otp/.ots/.ott format.
